I love travelling and exploring new things in life. I have no idea about my spendings though. I just travelled and somehow I always survived with or without money! I have been extremely lucky always meeting the right people while travelling.
I am not a big fan of staying in a hostel, and I only did maybe 3 times in my life, not having had a good experience. Either I stayed with friends or I treated myself for a better hotel, having a room by myself.
Also, I met some inspiring people. For example: In Beijing I met a russian diplomat and his wife, and then I ended up staying with them for 2weeks in their residence. In Bombay I met an american diplomat in a restaurant, and ended up staying with at the american consulat's apartment. Located on the same street as the Taj Mahal hotel.
When it comes to food, I always like to treat myself. I don't want to think about money to much. I borrowed money from my parents and I was also working really hard on and off having different jobs to be able to go travelling and spending my money.
The budget thing is fun sometimes, but I look at it as a challenge. I don't do it because I don't have any other options. I want to meet locals and sometimes have a primitive lifestyle, then I am happy.
Transportations I don't mind taking the train instead of flights. Then you get to see the scenery and nature as well. I hate buses, but ok for shorter rides!
