The concept of BudgetTraveller originated at a party in Paris when I was on one of my backpacking trips. I was lucky enough to meet some of the nicest French people there and while we were exchanging stories about our travels through Rajasthan in India, I realized that if you put all that we all did there at different points of time with different groups of people, into one single box, what would pop out is this incredible vacation that would make sure you take away the essence of that place when you leave and memories far clearer and more descriptive than any pictures. And considering that we were all students and as students generally are, we were pretty broke and didn't spent a lot of money travelling.
What we needed was a place to talk as friends about all these amazing places, some or the other of us still hadn't gone to and to keep that dialogue going. From there came budget traveller, a place free from commercialization! If you read about cheap tickets to Vietnam on this site, rest assured it's not one of the big airlines with a marketing gimmick that'll end up making a big dent on your bank balance! It will rather be a fellow traveller helping you figure out how to make sure that you get every travel dollar's worth.
No matter who you are and how much you can spend on your next trip, if you love travelling, you'll find this website worth being a part of. All I request of you is to use the information here and to help someone else if you can in return. Let's say NO to travel agents and overpriced airlines and hotels and let's together, figure out how we can make our next trip, which may be anywhere in the world, something we can look back at ten years from now with a wide smile on our face!
