Couchsurfing.org
CouchSurfing is an international non-profit network that connects travelers with locals in over 230 countries and territories around the world.CouchSurfing's initial focus was on hosting and 'surfing' (staying with a local as a guest in their home). Alongside these core experiences, they also facilitate a growing array of activities and events.
CouchSurfing members share hospitality with one another. These exchanges are a uniquely rich form of cultural interaction. Hosts have the opportunity to meet people from all over the world without leaving home. 'Surfers,' or travelers, are able to participate in the local life of the places they visit. They also give more people the chance to become travelers, because 'surfing' lowers the financial cost of exploration.

AirAsia.com
AirAsia is a fantastic low cost airline in the asian region that flies to India, Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Laos, Macau, MAlaysia, Myanmar, Philipines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, UAE, UK and Vietnam.
Tickets on Air Asia are relatively cheap if booked a month in advance. The lowest i've paid for a ticket personally is 12 USD for a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi. Extra baggage too is quite cheap if purchased online. The staff is very helpful and the entire setup is professinally managed. And oh yeah, if you're traveling on Ais Asia, don't forget to get one of those cute 2GB aeroplane shaped pen drives they sell on board for 14 USD!
RyanAir.com
RyanAir is the best low-cost airline in Europe. If you plan your trip early enough, you can travel through most of europe, including the east european places like Warsaw and Tallinn for really cheap. The cheapest flight i took on RyanAir was from Rome to Milan and it cost me 7 USD inclusive of taxes
If you're planning to travel by ryanair, i would suggest checking the website regularly over a week before you book tickets. They have some amazing offers where you can get tickets for as low as 1 Euro. It happened to my roommate. She found tickets from Milan to Ibiza in Spain for 1 Euro!
HostelWorld.com
HostelWorld.com is a site which lets you book hostels over the world. For those who haven't stayed at a hostel before, a hostel is sort of like a budget hotel. Most hostels i've been to are relatively clean and liveable. Rooms tend to have between 4-20 beds and most of the times you have to pay extra for sheets, lockers and food.
However, if you're traveling on a budget, this is a good way to travel as its low on cash! HostelWorld gives you a wide variety of hostels the world over along with traveler reviews and tips. You can also make your bookings online.
