Kashid is one of those places that any amount of reviews will not do justice to. It’s this quaint little beach, tucked away around 30 kms from Alibag. For the uninitiated, you need to take a ferry from Gateway of India (Mumbai) to Mandwa jetty, which is a very pleasant one hour ride with sea gulls and the Bombay skyline for company.

Loads of rest houses and resorts, that will fit any budget. The beach practically has white sand; it’s like a cleaner, nicer version of Goa. (and im a huge fan of Goa! So that’s pretty high praise)

The beach has hammocks! (which is another huge plus in my books). Small shacks line a section of the beach, where they serve everything from steaming hot coffee to Maggi noodles to bhajjis!

Kashid is a great place to go to with a significant other, group of friends or family. Its one of the few places that makes a weekend break feel like a nice long relaxed vacation.

P.S: Carry your own alcohol, or pick it up in Alibaug. Im not sure if Kashid has wine shops! And please keep the beach clean  Smiley
